Arvid Soderblom made 22 saves for his first career shutout and the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Utah Mammoth 4-0 in Salt Lake City on Sunday.
It was Soderblom's 104th career game.
Teuvo Teravainen had a power-play goal and a shorthanded tally while Nick Foligno and Landon Slaggert also scored for the Blackhawks, who snapped their three-game losing streak.
They had also lost five of their previous six.
It was the second of back-to-back games and the third game of a four-game road trip for Chicago.
Karel Vejmelka stopped 24 shots for the Mammoth, who lost for the second time in their last five games.
The contest was also the first of three between the two teams in 12 days.
Teravainen's power-play goal with 55 seconds left in the first period gave the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead.
Tyler Bertuzzi stole the puck in front of the net from Mammoth defenseman Mikhail Sergachev and Teravainen jammed in the rebound of Bertuzzi's shot between Vejmelka and the post from below the right circle.
It was Chicago's third power-play opportunity of the period.
Foligno and Slaggert scored 1:29 apart in the second period to make it 3-0.
Foligno picked up a loose puck in front of the Utah net, made a move and slid a backhand shot around Vejmalka for the Blackhawks captain's 250th goal of his 19-season career with 8:22 left in the second.
Slaggert scored off the rush when he entered the zone on the right wing, cut to the middle and let go a harmless looking screened shot from the high slot area that went in off Vejmelka's glove with 6:53 remaining in the middle period.
Teravainen's second goal came shorthanded 1:25 into the third period. He beat Vejmelka from the high slot after taking a pass from defenseman Alex Vlasic. It was the first shorthanded goal allowed by the Mammoth this season.
Blackhawks' defenseman Sam Rinzel missed his second consecutive game due to illness.
