Sayvia Sellers scored 14 of her career-high 38 points in the two overtime sessions as No. 25 Washington emerged with an 83-80 win over No. 16 Maryland on Wednesday in College Park, Md.
Sellers opened the second OT with a 3-pointer and soon added a driving layup, and the Huskies (17-4, 7-3 Big Ten) never trailed again en route to their fifth consecutive win.
With 16 seconds left, Sellers made 1 of 2 free throws for a two-point Huskies lead. She again split a pair at the line in the final second, and Maryland rebounded the miss of the second attempt but couldn't get off a shot before the buzzer sounded.
Washington's Avery Howell amassed 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Elle Ladine scored 10 points. The Terrapins (17-5, 5-5) took their third loss in a row despite getting 24 points from Yarden Garzon, 20 points from Addi Mack plus 16 points and 14 rebounds from Saylor Poffenbarger.
No. 1 UConn 97, Xavier 39
Sophomore Allie Ziebell doubled her career high by scoring 34 points as the unbeaten Huskies demolished the Musketeers in Storrs, Conn.
Sarah Strong added 25 points while Ashlynn Shade compiled 12 points, nine steals, six rebounds and six assists for UConn (22-0, 12-0 Big East). The Huskies finished with a 22-0 edge in steals, and they scored 48 points off Xavier's 34 turnovers.
Mariyah Noel scored 12 points and Meri Kanerva added 11 for the Musketeers (10-11, 3-9), who have lost four consecutive games.
No. 2 UCLA 80, Illinois 67
The Bruins scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter to establish a 14-point lead en route to a win over the Fighting Illini in Champaign, Ill.
Lauren Betts totaled 23 points and nine rebounds as UCLA (20-1, 10-0 Big Ten) won its 14th straight game. Five other Bruins scored between 10 and 12 points, including Gabriela Jaquez, who had 11 points and eight boards.
Cearah Parchment scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Illinois (15-6, 5-5), which has dropped three of its past four contests. Destiny Jackson recorded 15 points and six assists.
Iowa State 84, No. 21 Texas Tech 70
Audi Crooks poured in 33 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as the Cyclones upset the Lady Raiders in Lubbock, Texas.
Crooks hit 13 of 19 field-goal attempts en route to her seventh 30-plus-point performance of the season. Jada Williams chipped in with 15 points and nine assists for Iowa State (17-5, 5-5 Big 12), and Sydney Harris contributed 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Sidney Love registered 17 points, but Texas Tech (20-3, 7-3) took its third defeat in four games. Bailey Maupin and Snudda Collins each scored 16 points.
