The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Christian Dvorak to a five-year contract extension.
The average annual value is worth $5.15 million for a total of $25.75 over the length of the deal, which runs through the 2030-31 season.
'We're very happy to have Christian be a part of the Philadelphia Flyers for the foreseeable future,' said general manager Daniel Briere in a press release. 'He has played a pivotal role in our team's success this season and proven to be a reliable, two-way center that can be trusted in all situations. More importantly, he plays a big role in our locker room and has fit in seamlessly to our group and what we are building.'
Dvorak has recorded nine goals and 16 assists midway through this season after joining the Flyers in free agency. The forward is on pace to easily clear his previous career-high point total of 38, which he set in 2019-2020.
Dvorak, 29, is also three multi-point contests away from tying his previous career high of eight, established during the 2020-21 season.
The Illinois native has totaled 114 goals and 160 assists across 573 games during his career, which has included stints with the then-Arizona Coyotes (2016-21) and the Montreal Canadiens (2021-25). He was drafted in the second round of the 2014 NHL Draft by Arizona.
Dvorak's presence has been a boon for the Flyers (21-12-7), who sit in a wild-card spot one point back in the Eastern Conference with two-plus games in hand on all three teams ahead of them.
