Tyler Bertuzzi registered a hat trick, including the game-winning goal 1:18 into overtime, to lift the host Chicago Blackhawks to a 3-2 victory against the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday night.
Chicago extended its winning streak to three games while sending Vegas to its fifth straight defeat and eighth loss in nine games.
Bertuzzi entered the night tied with the injured Connor Bedard (shoulder) for the team lead with 19 goals this season. He ended the game with his 22nd goal and fifth career hat trick as he slid the puck past Vegas goaltender Akira Schmid from in front of the net off a pass from Ilya Mikheyev.
The Golden Knights challenged for offside but the goal was upheld.
Andre Burakovsky earned two assists for the Blackhawks.
Brandon Saad gave the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead at 10:40 of the first period. Alexander Holtz forced a turnover in the neutral zone and passed the puck to Brett Howden, who found Saad in front of the net. Saad beat Chicago goaltender Arvid Soderblom with a wrist shot near the crease for his second goal of the season.
The Blackhawks answered just under two minutes later when Bertuzzi sent a wrist shot from the right circle past Schmid.
Vegas regained the advantage 43 seconds into the second period as Mark Stone gathered the puck after a Jason Dickinson block and scored. Stone has a goal in four straight games, matching a career high.
Soderblom kept the Blackhawks ahead by one goal a few minutes later when he denied Colton Sissons, who had snuck past two Chicago defenders.
Bertuzzi notched the game-tying goal with 8:24 to play in regulation, scoring off a backdoor feed from Ryan Greene. Chicago outshot Vegas 7-2 in the third while controlling the tempo throughout the period.
Mikheyev temporarily left the game in the second period after a Dickinson shot hit him in the stomach.
Schmid made 17 saves while Soderblom stopped 13 shots.
The Blackhawks went 0-for-2 on the power play compared to 0-for-1 for the Golden Knights.
Chicago tied the season series with Vegas. The Golden Knights topped the visiting Blackhawks 4-3 in a shootout on Dec. 2.
