Jordan Eberle and Matty Beniers each had a goal and an assist as the Seattle Kraken defeated the visiting Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 on Monday night.
Jamie Oleksiak also scored for the Kraken, who extended their point streak to five games (3-0-2). Goaltender Joey Daccord made 29 saves.
Andre Burakovsky tallied for the Blackhawks, and Arvid Soderblom stopped 21 of 24 shots.
Trailing 2-0, the Blackhawks thwarted Daccord's shutout bid as Connor Bedard skated down the right-wing boards and fed a wide-open Burakovsky, who beat Daccord from the slot with a wrist shot between the legs at 11:33 of the third. Burakovsky, who played the previous three seasons in Seattle and was honored with a tribute on the Climate Pledge Arena video boards midway through the first period, extended his points streak to four games (three goals, three assists).
Eberle clinched the victory on a two-on-one rush with Beniers at 16:05, beating Soderblom with a wrist shot.
The Kraken opened the scoring at 2:57 of the second as Oleksiak floated a shot toward the net from the right point that beat a screened Soderblom.
Seattle doubled its advantage on the power play at 7:36 of the period. The Kraken won a faceoff in the offensive zone, and Eeli Tolvanen sent a pass to Eberle low on the right wing. It appeared Eberle was going to skate the puck around the back of the net, but instead he sent a no-look, backhanded pass to Beniers in the slot for a one-timer that beat Soderblom high to the blocker side.
Bedard, the first overall pick in the 2023 NHL draft, extended his point streak to five games (four goals, five assists).
Blackhawks forward Oliver Moore made his season debut after being recalled from Rockford of the American Hockey League. Moore replaced Jason Dickinson, who was sent back to Chicago for further treatment and rehabilitation for an upper-body injury.
