Kicker Jake Moody signed with the Chicago Bears' practice squad Friday after he was waived this week by the San Francisco 49ers, multiple outlets reported.
Moody missed a pair of field goals in the 49ers' season opening 17-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. San Francisco signed kicker Eddy Pineiro on Wednesday.
Moody will provide insurance for the Bears behind veteran kicker Cairo Santos.
Moody, 25, kicked for the 49ers in each of the previous two seasons after he was a third-round draft pick out of Michigan in 2023. In 32 career NFL games he has made 46 of 62 field goals and 94 of 96 extra points.
