The Chicago Fire's opening match of the MLS is Back Tournament against Nashville SC has been postponed to a later date, the league announced Tuesday.
The match initially was scheduled for Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
"Since arriving in Orlando on July 3, five Nashville players have had confirmed positive tests for COVID-19. Two of the players received the confirmed positive results during the weekend and three players received confirmed positive results last night. In addition, four other players have received inconclusive test results, and require further testing," MLS said in a statement on Tuesday.
"In conjunction with the club, MLS will continue to evaluate Nashville SC's participation in the MLS is Back Tournament following the results of additional testing."
The postponement of the Chicago-Nashville match follows the withdrawal of FC Dallas from the tournament on Monday.
MLS also announced that Friday night's scheduled match between Toronto FC and D.C. United will now take place on Sunday morning. The switch of days comes on the heels of Toronto's delayed arrival to Florida.
The San Jose Earthquakes' match against the Seattle Sounders will be played an hour earlier on Friday. It is set to begin at 9 p.m. ET.
