The New England Revolution are reportedly close to signing former Chicago Fire defender/midfielder Matt Polster.
Polster, 27, signed with Scotland's Rangers FC in January 2019 after four seasons with the Fire.
The Revolution will pay Rangers a transfer fee of about $375,000, the Daily Mail's Craig Hope reported Saturday.
In 82 games (73 starts) with the Fire from 2015-18, Polster tallied three goals and 10 assists. He was the seventh overall pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft after four seasons at SIU Edwardsville.
Polster, who played in 10 matches for Rangers across all competitions, could fill a void in New England caused by midfielder Luis Caicedo's season-ending knee injury.
