Former Wisconsin wide receiver Marcus Randle El turned himself into police on Saturday in connection with a double homicide in Janesville, Wis.
Randle El, 33, is expected to be charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, Janesville police chief David Moore said at a news conference. Randle El surrendered himself to Janesville police in Chicago on Saturday afternoon. He lives in Homewood, Ill.
Police said Seairaha Winchester, 30, of Janesville, and Brittany McAdory, 28, of Joliet, Ill., were found by a passing motorist near the side of a road early Monday. The two women each had multiple gunshot wounds and were transported to a hospital, where they died.
Randle El played at Wisconsin from 2004-07. He is the younger brother of Antwaan Randle El, who played nine seasons in the NFL and is an offensive assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
At Wisconsin, the younger Randle El caught four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown, and he ran 11 times for 29 yards.
In 2016, Marcus Randle El was sentenced to prison in 2016 after being convicted of home invasion with a dangerous weapon after being accused of abducting his young daughter at gunpoint in Illinois, NBC15 in Madison, Wis., reported. He was paroled in October 2018.
