St. Louis Blues defenseman Jordan Schmaltz was assigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League on Thursday.
Schmaltz collected two assists and four penalty minutes in nine regular-season games with the Blues. A first-round pick of the 2012 draft, Schmaltz made his NHL postseason debut in Game 1 of the Western Conference first-round series versus the Minnesota Wild on April 12.
Schmaltz had three goals, 22 assists and 22 penalty minutes in 42 games with the Wolves this season. The 23-year-old Wisconsin native is expected to play for Chicago in Game 2 of its first-round playoff series against the Charlotte Checkers on Thursday.
