It was the second year in a row that population grew here, but the increase so far shows no signs of making up for the loss of 200,000 people over the previous decade, according to a report in ...

Midnight Cowboy
"Midnight Cowboy" is many things: an astute character study, a buddy picture, a human comedy, a stark drama, and an honest and straightforward depiction of the seedy world of male prostitution in New York. What is most amazing about the film is its refusal to age. It won the Best Picture Oscar in 1969, but viewing it twenty-five years later seems to have done nothing to undermine its impact. It is ... ...

Chicago Chronicle
Chicago Chronicle | Current Chicago News & Illinois State HeadlinesThe Chicago Chronicle was first published as a newspaper on May 28 1895 serving the Chicago and surrounding areas. It was the only morning newspaper at the time and supported the Democratic party, although this changed in subsequent years. The Chicago Chronicle closed after publishing its final issue on May 31 1907, after a history of 12 years almost to the day. This new version of the Chicago Chronicle, which began publishing on September 11 2002 is essentially a local Chicago online newspaper, but with a national and international perspective, designed to provide readers with a one-stop shop for Chicago, national US, regional, and world news coverage, weather and sports information, with live updates on breaking business stories, and what's happening in the financial markets.
The biggest advantage we have is that we are an online newspaper, which means we are constantly refreshing our stories as more and more information comes to hand. Often when a story breaks the initial details are sketchy.
We and our sources around the world work hard to gather more information, verify facts, and provide a perspective of the major stories. Expert opinion often accompanies our articles to better inform readers, and provide a more complete understanding
of the news we deliver.
Financial markets and business reports are regular features as we pin down what's happening, and constantly refresh stock market indice readings, dollar currency rates, and breaking business news reports. Our world sports coverage is a priority, as is our regional news.
We like to think if you're looking for breaking news out of Chicago, Illinois, the United States, or the world, you'll look for it first at the Chicago Chronicle.
